Bankroll Management

In short: The practice of managing the money you've allocated to sports betting — separate from living expenses — and sizing bets as a percentage of that bankroll rather than betting fixed dollar amounts.

Most bettors size bets as 1–3% of bankroll per play. This approach protects against catastrophic losses during inevitable losing streaks and lets the bankroll compound during winning periods. Without disciplined bankroll management, even profitable strategies can blow up.
